Automated External Defibrillator Course

This course is for anyone who needs the knowledge and practice of using this lifesaving piece of equipment.

Who should attend?
Although no previous first aid knowledge is necessary to attend this course, this course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their first aid skills, or who require training in using this life saving piece of equipment.

Learning Outcome
This course gives you the knowledge and practice in how to use an automated external defibrillator.

Course Content
Delegates will receive an awareness in a range of topics:-

• Action at an emergency
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
• Introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the heart
• Heart attacks and angina
• Getting to know an AED
• The safe operation of an AED

Course Duration
The course duration is four hours.

Assessment & Certification
Continuous assessment by trainer. On successful completion of the course activities and the Multiple Choice Question paper, delegates will receive an Automated External Defibrillator certificate, which is valid for twelve months.
