This course offers an increased knowledge and skills in the assessment of trauma and medical emergencies in the pre hospital care environment using both techniques and equipment beyond the usual scope of First Aid.
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for anyone who may have to manage medical or
trauma patients within the pre hospital care field in particular event medical
cover personnel, private ambulance staff and current First Aiders who are
wishing to extend their knowledge and skills.
It is a pre requisite that all delegates must show evidence of current First
Aid training (First Aid at Work as a minimum standard) and hold this
qualification for a minimum of one year.
Learning Outcome
Knowledge and practice of pre hospital emergency care skills using both equipment and techniques and
equipment beyond the usual scope of First Aid.
Course Content
Delegates will receive training in the following pre hospital care topics: -
Assessment & Certification
Assessment will be carried out by an independent assessor on the fifth day of the course.
On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an Emergency Medical Technician
certificate of competence which is valid for two years.
Course Duration
The course duration is 5 days.
