Medical Gases

This course develops a comprehensive range of skills in the administration of oxygen and/or analgesic gas by emergency medical service & rescue personnel, and authorised first aiders, as part of their first aid role

Who should attend?
This course is for people who want to learn about the safe administration of oxygen and/or analgesic gas.

Learning Outcome
This course will give you the knowledge and skills to competently administer medical gases.

Course Content

  • Delegates will receive training in a range of topics including:

  • Safe handling of oxygen and entonox
  • Recognition of the cylinders in common use
  • Understanding when to administer oxygen
  • Understanding different therapy masks
  • Practise the use of oxygen as an adjunct to resuscitation
  • Understanding when to administer entonox
  • Contraindications for the use of these medical gases
  • Practise handling the equipment

Course Duration
One day course. Onsite courses can be delivered at times to suit you. Please call us with your exact requirements.

Assessment & Certification
On successful completion of the course activities and a practical and written assessment delegates will be awarded a Medical Gases certificate which is valid for one year.
