Paediatric First Aid Course

This two-day course focuses on emergency scenarios that maybe faced by child care professionals, including teachers, nursery workers and child minders. This course covers the requirements set by Ofsted.

Who Should Attend?
This course is for people caring for young children and babies in any setting.

Learning Outcome
The course will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children or babies

Course Content
Delegates will receive training in a range of First Aid topics: -

• First Aid priorities, Incident management
• Resuscitation, including babies and children
• Breathing problems including choking, asthma and allergic reactions
• Management of wounds and bleeding
• Recognition and treatment of shock
• Burns and scalds
• Sprains, strains and fractures
• Poisoning, bites and stings
• Diabetic emergencies
• Seizures
• Childhood conditions (e.g. meningitis, croup)

Course Duration
Two days (9.30 am - 4.30pm), assessment is carried out by the trainer on the afternoon of the second day.

Assessment & Certification
Following successful completion of the course activities and a Multiple Choice Question paper delegates will receive a Paediatric First Aid Certificate which is valid for three years.
