Public First Aid Course

This course is a two-day course and is suitable for gaining a general knowledge of administering first aid to anyone. This course covers a wide range of topics and can be tailored to the needs to the delegates.

Course Content
Delegates will receive training in a range of First Aid topics: -

• First aid priorities, Incident management
• Basic life support, including babies and children
• Airway disorders including choking, asthma, drowning
• Control of bleeding
• Shock
• Burns & scalds
• Fractures
• Poisoning
• Muscle, bone and joint injuries
• Diabetes and epilepsy

Course Duration
Two days, assessment is carried out by the trainer on the afternoon of the second day.

Course Outcome
All candidates receives a full colour 52 page course book. On completion of the course, candidates will receive an A4 and credit card sized certification of competence in Public First Aid, which proves competence in candidates to give safe and effective first aid to any casualty following an injury or illness using materials to hand.
